Modeling and Fault Size Estimation for Non-Penetrating Damage in the Outer Raceway of Tapered Roller Bearing

The fault quantification of a tapered roller bearing (TRB) can provide reliable guide for predictive maintenance. Currently, damage size estimation based on vibration signals has been proposed and developed. However, most approaches are focused the theory ball bearings. Unlike point contact bearing, between raceway is line contact. So, current practices micro-motion bearings limited when estimating TRB’s fault. To accurately estimate size, dynamic model non-penetrating damaged TRB was established to research response mechanism explain influence. takes deflection factor into consideration uses elastohydrodynamic lubrication simulate influence factor. Then, revised formula TRBs’ by uncovering relationship impact time location. Simulation analysis experimental prove correctness effectiveness formula.
